 Naturalize

It is not always necessary to manicure every aspect of a landscape.

This stream was built connecting 2 large ponds. Water – flow is necessary for a healthy pond environment. The naturalized plantings around the stream acts as a buffer between the lawn areas and the stream.

When building a new landscape the use of a few larger specimen trees immediately naturalizes the property.

Mature landscapes have mature trees.

A rustic bridge over water provides access into this unique rock garden.

 

 To intimately experience a landscape you must walk through it. This bridge makes it irresistible.

These bamboo steps were installed during wall construction. Each tread was embedded into the wall face transforming this wall into a walkway.

Function & Form

When vehicle access is necessary attractive bridge options are preferable.

At Boscobel Restoration Manor this bridge was built to provide access to the back lawn area during event setup.  The waterfall controls the water level of the large upper pond. The recirculation system inputs water from the lower pond into the far end of the upper pond. The water then overflows down the cascades, through the stream and back to the lower pond.

We all have different goals for our landscapes. This is my wife enjoying our waterfall.
